Thanksgiving was a'ight. Ate a lot, watched some crappy football, the usual. I was quite happy that politics didn't come up (because I've lost the ability to not be nasty and condecending on that subject), instead overshadowed by
a more current and important controversy. (Anyone who doesn't understand hasn't spent nearly enough time in the south.)

I went home and knocked myself out at about 10pm that night.

Friday was, of course, the busiest shopping day of the year, and so I was at Radioshack from 5:30am to 7:00pm, a thirteen and a half hour shift that required me to get up at 4am. Uggg. But it wasn't that bad; we were pretty busy all day, no one was really as asshole for once (well, except this lady who couldn't comprehend the fact that other, earlier customers had already bought all two of the cheap DVD players we had; she held up a box and started yelling at the crowd, telling them to leave because we were out of DVD players and then yelled at us for the ridiculousness of the situation. Lady, wasn't nothin' ridiculous until you showed up), and I made a couple hundred bucks.

After I left, I headed back to the ol' hometown to meet up with some friends home for the holiday. We went to a neighborhood sports bar that we used to frequent when we were in high school. It was really, really weird to be able to drink there. Even more weird was the "atmosphere" the new owners were trying so hard to create; in that town, there are hordes of sports bars, but no actual bars because aging yuppies don't like that sort of thing, or "the crowd that it draws." But anyway, this place, the first sports bar in the area, suddenly cranked the music and had the bartender walking on the bar and pouring shots in the mouths of old, lonely men who were more than happy to have a reasonably cute girl giving them any kind of attention. It was actually pretty sad, but I was laughing to hard to notice.

I worked at Toys R Us during the whole Tickle me Elmo thing. Nothing brightened my day like middle aged housewives duking it out for a retarded plush toy.

Other than that it sucked.
