God, I hate mondays....
I must admit, my weekend was super long....
The previous week, my roommate was out of town so had the place to myself...except for the damn dog...THE DAMN DOG!!! Don't get me wrong, love animals and love doggies but she just sits there...waiting for her master to come back its sad and annoying. Loved the peace and quiet so much even took a day off to enjoy it
Friday, saw a movie that I was surprised didnt make as much money as everyone predicted but very good. SIN CITY!!! OMG!!! IT WAs SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDD don't get me wrong, I wasnt big on the intro but MARV sold the movie for me.... its funny, my buddy has a SIN CITY Electric Chair Marv where his eyes light up when he hit the button. Got it years ago, probably a collector's item....
Went to this movie theater in Edgewater, NJ. Talk about far but the scenery was nice(if you catch my drift) had a funnel cake(too good for my own good though. Anyway, the theater was filled to capacity, so I had to sit in the front. I LOATHE looking up at a movie on a diagonal. But i could still enjoy it. And...and...I GOT TO SEE THE EPISODE 3 TRAILER ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!
I was on the edge of my seat, I heard my friends go " OH BOY, there GOES QUINN" So watched SIN CITY, loved the visuals, the story and the noir feel. Elijah Wood creeped me out. Loved seeing a topless Carla Cugino.
While in the theater, thought I had a mini crisis, lost my grandfather's check. FReAKED OUT cause, well alot of reasons. This was all going on while my friends were waiting for me for the next step of the evening. Resolutely sad cause I would have to shell out money, i came out, saddened and somewhat ready to go home. But we pressed ON, our goal TOYS R US for you see, at midnight on April 2nd all EPISODE 3 merchandise went onsale officially. That was my true goal for the night. We went to the first TRU on Rte 4 in some town. CLOSED, they were decided where to go next when i felt something in my coat sleeve. SuRE ENOUGH it was the CHECK. I actually thanked GOD on that one and put securely in my bookbag, my other friend said "Age, you gotta be careful with that. I said your right Italo, not a word to Daron"
We tried Ridgewood, they were closed then finally we decided on Toys r us(by then i was yelling at Daron for choosing a far away movie, You knew where i wanted to go tonight) we got there, they were open.
PICTURE IT: It was three of us. I barked my orders. " Italo get two carts, Daron start grabbing things. AND actually said, Decepticons Attack." They looked at me and just shook their heads. But...BUT we werent the only ones there. AlOT OF GUYS were there swarming in and grabbing stuff. They even had stuff in carts. we just threw things in ours and put it aside. Italo saw what i needed off of my Official Episode 3 Figure list and grabbed as much as we cool. It was FUN. The staff just stood and watched us GEEKS going for stuff. Occasionally, I had to shoo someone away from our stuff. eventually we went to the back of the store and split the bounty. This one couple she walked with her bf and just tried to smile as he grabbed things. He explained some stuff but she didnt care. She picked up some things and helped a little.
We finished at 2am. I brought too much
but dont care. Its in the trunk now until i can smuggle it inside.
Saturday Morning, I went to Target cause i had coupons. I didnt get the exclusive Vader but got some other cool stuff and it was allll 1.00 off every star wars purchase. Later while on my way to class, heard the pope died. I'm not even a true catholic and that affected me.... Had some great brick oven pizza for dinner( I was suppose to go to a SG event but we got out of class so early I didnt want to lug my 8lb plaster head around until 9:30-10 that night.)
Sunday, went to Kmart(more sales) and picked up these new vader helmets with chest plate. NO i'm not going to wear it.
I did open a General Grievous figure and thats about it. Probably too Geeky for some of you guys but hey. At least it isnt all EMO
