Hello....My Name is Adrian Quinn and I am a geek... Yeah I am. No ifs ands or buts. I am a geek. I finally realized that maybe three weeks ago and you know what...I am happy about that....
I know useless minutia of information about movies, tv and other dumb stuff. I know too much about the supernatural because of the research for my novel. And I am socially inept.
I am saying this because, a few weeks ago A very important film came out on dvd that made me feel soooooo happy.
On September 21st 2004, THE STAR WARS TRILOGY came out on dvd. Now, I am a Fan since 1977(i was 3 when it came out and thats one of the first movies I remember seeing. Probably during the re-release) I loved it since then. Empire is my favorite film. The original Trilogy is the reason why I wanted to become a writer and filmmaker. Some know this already and for others well..now u know...
Anyway, I voiced my concerns about the new changes to the dvd. How I hated messing with the films again and again. Especially Empire. Some boycotted the films release, others just didnt care. Their love dead. Me, well I got excited like it was christmas.
Anytime a commercial came on, I would get a glazed look in my eye, stop everything i was doing and just watch. Its funny, I was visiting a friend in Canada and we were watching tv one night. She asked me a question and as I told her the answer, the trilogy commercial came on and I turned and looked. I said nothing. I hear her going "Adrian?" "Adrian" and I just was quiet. As soon as it stopped I finished the answer. She laughed at me and said I was crazy.
So the week of the release, as the days got closer and closer I got giddier and giddier. Waiting. Waiting for midnight at some stores or the next day at others. That sunday, I gathered all the sunday paper circulars to see where was the best price. I went on my fave website to check the lowest prices. Monday as I did my work, it was in my mind. Mentioned it on my Yahoo Msgr and went to sleep that monday smiling like a child on christmas eve. Tuesday morning I had my plan of attack and went and picked it up. Pushed through the 4 or 5 clerks at the store annoying me by asking me if I was looking for anything, as I neared the stand I saw him...His dark visage with his lightsaber and i stared in awe. I grabbed my widescreen copy and Held it high, I swear I heard the choir voices and a great beam of light shone down on me. I happened to be under light is all... I paid and rushed home. Popped in empire and felt very good. Life was good...
Then that little hiccup that happened friday night that got me sooo upset. I thank all who left me messages to cheer me up. I learned something, People can be evil, downright hurtful. You think its the person who says it to you is the worse but its the one who says it behind your back is the worse. Makes you hate the whole female species.... That they can be sooo much colder then a male. It just hurts. But then you meet or have friends that show you there is good. That person, who originated this I just found out bout last night. I always had an idea but now I know. But I will keep quiet.
Great Adventure was alot of fun. Went on the Roller Coasters and had a great time with SGNJ/NY members. Kudos to derceto for putting that together. I had alot fun.
I saw three great movies recently, Napoleon Dynamite(VOTE FOR PEDRO)Shaun of the Dead(the whole plan montage was hilarious) and Team America. I LOVED THEM ALL!!!! I'm even thinking of Seein Shaun again. Hehehe.
Some random thoughts....
WOW, Superman died...Well Chris Reeve. I mean i was soo surprised at that one. He will be missed.
Rodney too...I liked him....
that Jaidee and stormy Set is phenomenally hot...I dont really look over SG sets but that pic on the opening page made me look and I frigging
it.
Howard Stern to Satellite Radio in 2006. I dont know how i feel about that. I mean will I go to satellite to listen? I don't know.
I got my SG Summer Swap CD's....alot of interesting music on there....I hope people liked mine
Finally.... I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE AND IT IS PUPPET SEX!!!!
