WHEW!!!!
FOR ONCE I HAVE SOMETHING I WANT TO SAY....
SPOILERS! (Click to view)I went to a wedding this past Saturday. In-laws you know...Now it was hot and I hate dressing up and hate waiting on the females to get ready. But we got there and boy was I impressed. It was at a nice pavilion where they had a cocktail hour first. Light drinks, champagne and stuff was served. Ice Sculptures and all that...I NEVER SAW ReAL LIFE ICE SCULPTURES.
Followed by the ceremony. My brother sat with me and my mom since his wife was the Matron of Honor. My nephews looked very nice as they were the ushers. My niece looked adorable as the junior Brides-maid or something... The Wife was beautiful. Her gown alone must've been over 5k.
After the wedding, they had another cocktail/refreshment hour. this consisted of buffet tables and an open bar. Now...at first i thought...wait this is dinner...THIS SUCKS...but boy was i wrong. My brother mentioned that dinner would be served by 9pm. The serving stations had roast beef, turkey, chicken, seafood, sushi, LAMB CHOPS...LAMB CHOPS PEOPLE!!! and every drink imaginable. I myself had a vodka and cranberry...but since I was driving I couldnt drink....
Then it was dinner time, you had choices of Filet Mignon or salmon or chicken. I had the filet mignon and this delectable potatoe along with broccoli.
The Reception band was excellent. Did I mention she had a 6 piece orchestra for the welcome and the Wedding itself???
For dessert you had choices of...ice cream with cone, milk shakes, fried oreos, this brownie that had been hollowed at and just had melted chocolate in it....It was also warm so it was delightful. But too rich for my blood.
And then the wedding cake. My mom got rather toasty and I just sat at the table. Said hello to some people and that was that. My brother took some pictures with all of us and danced with her a few times which she loved. Yes...he was the good son and I was just me... But watching the happiness had by all...made me wonder...will I ever get hitched? would I be able to afford something so lavish. I mean if I had it my way...I want the Imperial March played at my reception. If I am going to get married...Better Find someone First...
I also finally saw Clerks II on Saturday as well. I must admit i had heard so many good things about it that I was kinda jaded. But you know what. I liked it. I got a kick out of it. I mean Randal is my fave character and Clerks is still one of my all time faves. It was a fitting sequel. Plus I loved his rants. Overall I give it a B+, I mean to me it was way better then Jay and Silent Bob Strike back and thats because to me Strikes Back loses it when they leave NJ and head out to LA. It doesnt get good until the end when we get back to jersey.
Speaking of jersey....I cut work yesterday(Monday August 7th) and did a real fanboy move. I got up early and stood online at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank NJ waiting for the arrival of Kevin Smith who would be signing there at 2pm. Now The way Walt Flanagan had said it...they would cut the line but according to the Ads I saw...Every fanboy would be pleased. But didnt want to take any chances. 50 people were in line when I got there at 10am. They moved the line back and forth and I persevered. And finally at 3:45pm I got in and met a film idol of mine. Guy was sooo laid back and funny. And He personalized too. He signed my Clerks 2 posters. my dvds of Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and this SG Pen Pal Journal I've been holding onto. So whoever ultimately keeps it has a real gem in there. He also gave me some Smith Wisdom...Never go out without underwear. I also found out He went to the New School for a semester(Eugene Lang College) and told him I work here now...over all...good times...good times...
the sauce on them was really good, i know it must have been a good amount of work because there is no way that was anything other than homemade sauce. they were really very very good
