It's been awhile since I updated this thing...Not much to say really. I had a mini vacation last week...great having fridays off and with the 4th of July holiday....I was off for 5 days, we only had to work 2 so i took those off as well....Yeah...all i did was stay home...sleep...cleaned the basement... I have alot of star wars stuff down there.... I mean..a good 10k worth of stuff easy....I've also read alot of books over the years....I even found my copy of Celery Stalks at Midnight and the Dark Crystal.... Went to a film festival last wednesday. I worked on the director's original film 2yrs ago and it was crap, yet this one was very watchable....Pissed me off actually because he got it down and yet here I am not doing jack....
I also mentioned several movies over break. I watched the whole Blind Dead collection, great premise...evil TEMPLAR knights killing the nubile young virgin...They lost their eyesight from either being burned...having crows peck their eyes out or simply rotting away...by movie 4 didnt matter much.... I also rented this film Nightmare City...Radioactive Zombies attacking. Typical Italian Zombie horror but I watched a behind the scenes interview with Lumberto Unzi and he had a great comment about the lead actor. " I had no say in the casting or else I would not have hired him. He was a stiff and had no talent but was very well known in Mexico" Now It was ok...I mean I could do the makeup in that movie....But what I loved were the scenes of headshot wounds and the zombies loved cutting off breasts....really weird....OH and I loved the EnDING...I always wanted to do that....THE WEAK and SCREAMING character cant hold onto that rope and comes crashing down...she hit the rail of a rollercoaster...back flipped twice, hit a another rail while screaming mind you and crashed to the ground...HARD.... Oh what joy. and finally I rented the Hammer Horror Collection...8 movies on 2 discs...Of course side b didnt really play but BOY WAS THAT AWESOME. I forgot how cool that period of horror was. I use to watch with my grandmother but never got anything out of it...Great costumes...superb acting...Amazing. I mean I love Peter Cushing. I actually like him more as Van Helsing then as Grand Moff Tarkin. No films with Christopher lee though sadly.
Comic con is coming up...sooo many things I want to get....I did go see Pirates of the Caribbean 2, I must say I liked it alot. good popcorn movie. Johnny Depp was great as Captain Jack Sparrow and the effects were amazing. I liked it way more then Superman Returns. I hated SUPERMAN.
