That's called the "bystander effect." Psychologists have done studies on it. They found that if there is an emergency situation (someone gets hurt, or is being mugged, etc) they are more likely to have someone help them if there are very few people around. If there are many people, such as in a store, most of the bystanders will expect someone else to help the person. Thank you Psych 101.

My personal goal for today is to stop throwing up every hour and to actually keep stuff in my stomach. So far Im failing... badly.
SO now can manage fluids and crackers. I'm hoping for solid foods. but i shouldn't push it.

i am not sure where that beach was. but i do know you can see the boat that travels to Nova Scotia from there (does that help?).
Maine isn't so bad. i like it enough, though i don't go out much. maybe when it warms up i'll investigate the area a little more. i finally went and walked around the Old Port when i was up there. very nice. i got some excellent vinyls. so all was well.

he wrote back saying that he went home (near bangor) the day he called me, or the day after or something, and left my number down here. he was up there for 2 weeks, and by the time he came back down, he figured why bother trying to call me, as i probably would have someone else to replace him already. so he didn't call. which is gay, but i guess i can understand...
but, if i were him, i still woulda called
so it's not very justified
but i guess i can KINDA see where he's coming from
i still think he's an asshole and we should go eat at the SoPo Sebago, request him as our waiter, and not tip him
