Something AMAZING just happened. My boss came back from lunch at 3pm, put all of our names into a hat, picked out four of us and those four got to go home. I was one of them! WOO! Anyone in london right now will understand how awesome that is because the weather is glorious. I plan on having a nap in the sun with a book over my face. Did i just get made redundant on the sly, I'm now wondering? Oh well!
The blues band and I have been learning 'I'd Rather Go Blind' by Etta James which is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever written. 'I would rather go blind than to see you walk away from me'. What a statement. I welled up a little bit when we played it for the first time, had to pretend I was sweating and complained that the air conditioning was broken and that I had something in my eye.
I'm off to NYC in September!! If anyone can reccommend a decent, cheap(ish) place to stay in Brooklyn that would be awesome.
