My Little Lunatic
Received a phone call today from my mom. My dog Luna passed away this morning. It wasn't entirely unexpected, she'd been ill and on immunosuppressive drugs for years, but I didn't think she was so close to death.
I miss you Luna. I miss your obnoxious behavior, the way you barked incessantly when I quit petting you too soon, the way you got into everything and humped comforters like a male dog. I miss the way you'd always greet me at the door, and try to steal food when I was cooking, eating, or just getting water from the fridge. I miss the way you snapped at Ace, Pip and Kemlo when they infringed on your personal space. I miss medicating your chronically inflammed and infected ears, as you'd try to bite me for touching them. I miss your attitude, your unwavering love and concern for me, your deep soulful eyes, your protective nature.
There will never be another Luna.
You are my one and only baby girl, and I'm sorry I wasn't there to say goodbye and hold you while you passed. I can only hope the suffering you endured while here left with your last breath.
Now go find Steve Irwin and bite him for me girl.

i want to talk to you about my horrible ordeal with putty (my doxie). ruptured disc, back surgery, the whole works... i want your expert advice on some things for him.
He's doing well. He's about 2 weeks out of back surgery for a ruptured disc. Scary stuff.
