ok...
so i didn't have to work today...but i had to teach a class for these new hires....i had to wake up at 7 in the morning..and to me, having the day off, that totally sucked..but anyway..then the managers sent me on an errand because they were going to run out of shit...and i got roped into "volunteering" myself...but they fed me in return...and free food is always good...
time for some lists...
books i've bought/read/reading as of late:
1.) the perks of being a wallflower (bought for the third time..people keep stealing my copy...and i know it's goood and all..but it's one of my favorites damn it...)
2.) the zombie survival guide: complete protection from the living dead (this book is hilarious...it acts like zombies are for real and wandering around..it gives provisions and little pictures and advice..my favorite "blades don't need reloading")
3.) claire marvel (another favorite...it was a gift for someone who never came to pick it up...so i think i'll sell it back to the book store)
4.) running with scissors (i bought this for the title and cover alone...and it ended up being really funny..so far anyway)
5.) dry (same author as number 4)
6.) plainsong (i don't know why i got this one..it just looked interesting...)
7.) wicked: the life and times of the wicked witch of the west (this book is great so far...it's cool to "hear" it from her side..my brother and his wife are going to new york to see the play based on this)
8.) children playing before a statue of hercules (i was tricked into buying this...i thought it was written by david sedaris, whom i've read before....and is hilarious...but it's like a collection of short stories by other people...
9.) and of course harry potter...which i finished a day after i got it.....
i'm reading a few of these books at the same time...which is unlike me...with my memory i'm surprised i've kept things apart so far...but i guess it would be hard to mix zombies with a coming of age story about a gay guy and throw in a little green witch who would melt if water hit her...
also...
CD's i've purchased:
1.) elliott smith - from a basement on a hill (i know i know..i should have had this long ago)
2.) the dears - no cities left (very good)
3.) snow patrol - (a girl told me to get this..and i likey)
4.) ryan adams and the cardinals - cold roses (i haven't fully listened to this yet...like one of the two CDs...)
and i forgot what else...i'm tired of lists now..

dooood! it seems you and i are on the same wavelength. i own (and have read) all but two of the books that you reference. The perks of being a wallflower is some powerful stuff. it's a litmus test of sorts for me- if you don;t like it- i probably won't like you.
