Since a couple of you asked, I decided to give you some idea of what the house looks like now, and what it will look like when I'm done. 
The kitchen will remain roughly the same. The major changes will be the stove moving to the right side, the microwave and fridge being replaced by built-in appliances, and the laundry room annex that will be added where you see the back door now.
The window on the left side of that last picture will make way for an extention to the dining room. All-in-all, the whole back wall of the house is coming out, and I'll replace it with a 5-6 foot addition to the house's lower floor. If all goes well, it will look something like this:
The red line indicates what will be in the current building, and what will be in the new addition. The cabinets themselves will be a matte black, with stainless steel appliances and red walls. Between the kitchen and the laundry room will be a glass door, so the laundry room will visually part of the kitchen, but the noise will be blocked (as you can see, this floor is basically one open space).
The other major project is the bathroom. The bidet will be taken out (I never use it anyway), so the toilet can be moved to the side, making room for a seperate shower. I hate showering in the bathtub. The bath itself will hopefully be replaced by a jacuzzi tub, if I have any money left for it. Considerably more low tech than the kitchen, I made a paper model of the bathroom: I haven't decided yet if I'm going with tiles in the bathroom, or paint. If I'm going with tiles, it'll be the orange and grey tiles I showed a few blogs ago, if I'm going with paint, it'll be the same red that's going in the kitchen.
Tara generally is a good girl, but there's one rule she keeps breaking: no kitties on the dinner table. She can go anywhere she wants, except on the table. So I bought a spray bottle the other day to try and correct here. Well, that kind of backfired. Though she was scared of the first 2 or 3 squirts, the spray bottle has rapidly become her new favourite toy. Whenever I squeeze the trigger, she comes running to hunt the drops of water as they fall down. And she can go for hours if I squirt in different directions, running from one side of the room to the other, trying to catch the drops. The occassional slip on the wet floor makes it even funnier, to me anyway
. The other day, she was soaked to the bone, but she didn't slow her down one bit. I think she actually enjoyed getting wet, as she made those funny prrr sounds she does when she's having fun everytime the water hit her. The only downside is that it's so much fun, the floor and couches end up soaking wet before you know it. Fortunately, the floor is coming out in a few months anyway, so I don't care too much if it gets damaged.
Though I now have to find a way to keep her off the table, other than getting up and yell at her.

That all looks pretty awesome!! The bathroom should be awesome. That's really funny about Tara..If I squirt my cats they freak and run under the bed. Talk to you soon
