I went out to Mississippi State University, where I went to college and earned a B.S. in geology, this afternoon. I have plenty of photos and videos to share, but I need to process them before uploading. So you'll have to settle with a couple of selfies until I can post the best of the rest.

I'm guessing more than a few will. If you would, comment and say so, ok? And tell me which one you'd want.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a link on the FB post from which I downloaded this photo or I'd include it so you could go buy them.

Stay Tuned...

Thanks for the topic @rambo & @missy. I wish I could say I won the lottery, but we don't have a lottery in Nevada. It would take an amendment to the state constitution to allow it. Protects the casino industry. And I rarely go to the California or Arizona borders to buy tickets. Though I might buy some on my trip back home from Mississippi....

Going back to January for this one @missy and @rambo.

At my age, I need to get going if I'm going to cross off even a fraction of the stuff on my Bucket List. I'll start off with a few that I've crossed off so far.

1. Fly an F-16. Crossed off in 1992 while on temporary assignment in Turkey in support of Operation Provide...

For those of you who have been following my posts about my dad (like @thekarmaguy and @nebula), here's the latest news.

He got to come home last Friday. We left Memphis in time for him to get home and watch the first game of the College World Series, though I'm not sure how much of it he actually watched. I suspect he slept through a...

@nebula, so my aunt (dad's sister) came for a visit and brought one of my second cousins with her.I don't know if KJ wanted to be there. It didn't seem like it, but mom said she wasn't feeling well and I know KJ's got a lot going on in her 19 year old world. I won't go into it, but suffice it to say, her parents are none to happy with her. None of it surprises me really, given my dad's side of the family's history. But my aunt is being supportive. And I support her... what's done is done. She's family and though we are in no way close, I love her. Despite that, it was nice to see her and I'm sure my dad enjoyed seeing her. I wish I could have talked to her about the stuff that's going on; maybe there will be another opportunity before I leave.

@nebula, it all turned out good. A few days before I left, I posted on FB, tagging all my cousins, that I was leaving in a few days and wanted to get together. My cousin Eddie threw a big family BBQ on his Big Deck behind his house (damn, I should have taken some photos of Eddie's Big Deck) the night before I left. Everyone in the family showed up except Travis, Hailey and Caleb (they live in southwest Mississippi and are in the process of moving to Hattiesburg) and Wiley and Linda (they live in Houston). My dad felt good so he and mom went too. So everyone got to see Uncle Marvin and I got to see everyone.

It's time for my WCW selections. If you've been following my rather irregular WCWs, I can almost never pick just one. I almost always seem to pick two and today is no different. To recap, here are my past WCWs:

@nebula - besides her obvious beauty and amazing tattoos, her love of the outdoors drew me to her. We've had some great conversations through comments...

Laugh louder. Love deeper. Smile wider. Reach higher. Go farther. Eat hearty. Feel deeply. Rock harder. Do something new. Do something crazy. Make someone smile everyday. Have fun. Life is short. Don't live it on the sidelines. Don't get to the end and wish you had done something. Live without limits. Life with limits is not life.

Gopher. Chauffeur. Tech Support. General Moral Support Agent. General Calmer Downer. And, maybe, Handyman. Those are my primary roles while I'm here in West Point, Mississippi helping with my dad's recovery. Fortunately, I don't have to help him dress or shower (that's mom's job), change his bandages (he has a home health care nurse for that) or cook (people from my parents' church are bring...

Hope you're getting some quality time with both parents despite the stress 💜
deadguitarist:
@nebula, it's been a good visit despite the reason for the visit. Pop is doing good, although now that all of the drugs from the surgery are finally wearing off completely, he's rather uncomfortable. But that's to be expected for such a major surgery. He's healing well; his plastic surgeon removed three of four drains this afternoon, one of which was a portable vacuum pump he had to be connected to all the time. It looks like I'll start my return trip on 02 July, though I'm not too thrilled about starting my return trip on a holiday weekend. But I know I don't have much vacation and I want to take more time on my return trip than I did getting here. I want to be able to stop occasionally for photo ops, especially at Petrified Forest National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. So getting the extra non-work day for the return trip is a plus.

Or at least don't rain too hard around sunset. I want to go down one of the parks on the east bank of the Mississippi River here in Memphis tonight and shoot some sunset/dusk photos of the river and Memphis tonight because we'll be leaving Memphis for West Point, Mississippi tomorrow. Yes, that means my dad gets to go home tomorrow. YAY!

deadguitarist:
Woot! No rain tonight. Clear as a bell. Good photo ops.
