Yesterday morning I had the distinct pleasure to meet, shoot and hang out with @avrora!
OH. MY. GOD!!!!! She is an amazing young lady!

We drove out to Valley of Fire State Park. There is an area not too far from the entrance where there are a bunch of sandstone hills that are full of small and large “holes” or shallow “caves” carved by wind and water. We found a spot close to, but not visible from, the road. This spot also gave us advance warning if anyone approached (important in case we shot some implied and/or nudes... we didn’t, but still essential). We shot for two hours. I must say, @avrora is easily the best model I’ve worked with so far. I’m not the best at directing models in posing, but I am improving in this area slowly. I usually shoot using continuous (burst) mode set on my camera. So the one thing I ask my models to do is to move when I press the shutter button... move the body, head, hands, arms, legs, change facial expressions. She did that so elegantly with varied poses in each group. At first glance, the photos we created are absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to transfer them to my computer and look at them on a screen larger than my iPhone.
After shooting, we went to the visitors center and got some sandwiches and other food, then drove to the Seven Sisters where there are some picnic tables to eat our early lunch. Then I drove to Elephant Rock so she could get a couple of photos as we drove by. @avrora had a couple of other things she wanted to do, so we headed back to Las Vegas.
I had so much fun! We had some terrific conversation during the morning about our respective politics, gun control, and some more lighthearted topics, like our IT jobs.
Every model photoshoot I’ve done has been fun, but this one was the tops so far!
Thank you @avrora for choosing to spend your Sunday morning with me. I know @zen hoped to meet with you, and I hope you had time to do so. But I feel privileged that you wanted to spend some time with me while you were visiting Las Vegas.
