I Work For a Pretty Good Company... Introducing Softvision

This is the best way I can describe Softvision, and it's how I briefly describe it to candidates I interview... Softvision is a software development, professional services company. Clients hire us to build, fix, maintain and test software products and provide insight and solutions to software service problems.

We have many well-known clients: Microsoft, Snap-on Tools (my primary client since November 2015), Mozilla (yes we help make Firefox), Goldman Sachs, Neiman Marcus, Kohl's, AstraZeneca, Groupon, Zumiez, Whole Foods, and many more.

We have offices (studios) in: Oakland, California (also HQ); Las Vegas, Nevada; Austin, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New York, New York; Atlanta, Georgia; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; Cluj, Romania; India; Nepal; Australia; Brazil; and Singapore. We also have people working on client sites and people who work remotely.

We have many opportunities available right now: test automation engineers, web UI developers/designers (apparently we need a web editor proofreader for our own site), front-end developers, technical leads, office manager, project managers, and more. Standard two weeks of PTO. After 3 years at the company, you get a 3rd week. After 5 years, I think you get a 4th week of PTO. Insurance benefits are rather good.

We also get a perk called Tickets At Work, where you can buy tickets to virtually any event at a discount. I bought some sweet Vegas Golden Knights hockey tickets in the lower bowl for less than they would have cost at other online ticket sales sites.

Other perks, are flexible hours and the ability to make up time when you need to go to the doctor, pick up kids from school, etc. rather than use PTO for an hour to run that errand.

@diddy_dave_uk, I should have also mentioned that the "uniform of the day" is casual, though if clients or senior staff is visiting, we are asked to dress business casual (though jeans are usually still acceptable those days). Visible tattoos, piercings and anime hair are allowed too. At least in the Las Vegas office where I work, it's very relaxed, free snacks and drinks (including fruit, and other healthier snacks, oatmeal, eggo waffles). They ordered me a Varidesk (one brand of a stand-up desk) though I'm still waiting on delivery. If it works well for me, they will likely by them for others who want one,
