If you're in the US, Memorial Day weekend is upon us. As a USAF veteran, this is a solemn holiday to me, despite all the revelry that occurs as this weekend is also the unofficial start of summer.
So let me say a couple of things quickly and then you can enjoy the festivities.

During this Memorial Day, before you head out to the beach, lake, river, pool, water park, etc., before you light up the barbecue, before you do whatever it is you enjoy doing on Memorial Day, before you welcome the unofficial start to summer, take a minute to think about the freedoms you enjoy and remember the fallen Soldiers, Seamen, Airmen and Marines, the fallen heroes, who gave the ultimate sacrifice to you and America.
