So, anyway, the Mrs. and I went out today to buy a new Keurig since ours died this morning. We also planned to go see a movie too. First stop, the closest Starbucks to our house for tea and coffee. My tea was fine, but they burned my wife's coffee and made it undrinkable. Then off to the Galleria Mall in Henderson for lunch and a little shopping.
After lunch at Red Robin, we stopped into Torrid to look for a nice dress for my wife. My brother is getting The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's Person of Courage Award for 2016. It's a formal affair and a BIG DEAL!
Amazingly, the first dress she picked out and tried on was the best choice and it looked amazing on her.
Next, we went to Kohl's to get the Keurig 575. Regular price is $199.99, but it was on sale for $169.99. My wife found an online Kohl's coupon for 20% off any purchase, which was accepted, so with tax, we paid something like $147 for the Keurig.
Coming out of Kohl's there's the Vans store. Wasn't planning on buying anything, but I've been looking for some funky offbeat Vans. They had some Nintendo Vans. I wanted the ones that had a variety of Nintendo characters, but they didn't have my size, so I go Mario.
And the soles...
My wife thinks it would be cool, and I am all for the idea, for me to wear black leather Vans with my tux (or suit) for my brother's award ceremony. She said, it would be cool if I could find a pair of black leather Vans. She forgot I already have a pair of black leather Vans. For her, she thought about getting the high heeled Converse shoes. So we stopped at Journeys.
They didn't have them, but the Assistant Manager turned her on to a pair of Doc Martens black leather high-heeled boots with yellow stitching. They look like combat boots. Very cool. Great idea! Thanks Alexis.
Anyway, while she was trying on the boots, I wandered. And I found these:
Star Wars Vans! Of course I had to buy them. All three pairs of Vans were on sale too.
The Mrs. wasn't feeling too well by this time (probably residual hangover symptoms from last night - 3 1/2 double vodka and cranberry cocktails will do that - but, ever since her gastric bypass 12 years ago she doesn't really get hangovers... no headache, and usually doesn't feel bad the next day). So we decided to skip the movie and go home.
But one last stop at Guitar Center so I could get an amplifier stand and a couple of other little things.
Cool shoes, huh!?
Stay Tuned...
