Coinciding with Valentine's Day, this week, @missy and @rambo want to know our secret recipes for love. With a caveat... it's a contest and the winner(s) get some sweet SG goodies. I wonder if they'll consider members for the prize or just SGs and SGHs. Maybe they'll award a prize to one of the ladies and a prize to a member. Maybe they'll read so...

@littlejohn22, thanks! It took me a while to come up with it.

I struggle with this decision every year. My annual subscription renews at the end of February. Should I renew? I actually started thinking about this in November 2017. I’ve been waffling on this decision frequently ever since. Some days I think I’ll renew. Other days I think I won’t.

It’s not about the money. $48 for a year of Suicide Girls is an extremely fair...

@catgrey, thank you for your kind words. It should be obvious that I did renew. I pretty much decided to right after I wrote this blog.

@starry, perseverance pays off, though I think in my case it was simply being patient. I shot some sets last Wednesday, 14 March, that will at some point be submitted to SG. And I’m shooting again on Monday, 02 April. I didn’t ask the model if she wanted to shoot for SG, she told me that she wanted to (we’ve shot together every month since October 2017, except in January 2018). Hopefully this will kickstart my photography business a bit and bring me opportunities to work with other local models for SG and other projects.

It's crazy weather here in Las Vegas this winter. While pretty much the eastern 2/3 of the US has been way colder than normal, we lucky people in the western states, especially the southwest, have been warmer than normal. Out of the 28 days (so far) in January, Las Vegas has only been at or below the average temperature for 6 or so days. 20+...

With 2017 ready to pass into the annals of history, and 2018 poised to exit the future and enter the present, let's take a look at what my year might look like at this time next year.

These aren't resolutions, but things I'd like to try, do, complete, or accomplish during 2018. But I'll let @rambo and @missy think they are resolutions.

@littlejohn22, we went on a cruise in 2005 for our 10th anniversary even though it was a year and a half late. It was a 7 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera with ports of call in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. We sailed with Princess Cruises on the Sapphire Princess. My wife contracted Norovirus the 2nd day of the cruise and was quarantined to our room for 24 hours, but the doctor didn’t follow up on time to release her and she ended up quarantined for 2 days. To make matters worse, the toilet in our room kept breaking, which as terrible since she wasn’t allowed to leave the room. We also think there was a period of time when our stateroom door wasn’t locking, leaving all our stuff unprotected. So my wife did not have a very enjoyable cruise. I did though. While it was interesting disembarking and seeing the sights at each port of call (Cabo was the best, but we only got to stay half a day), I enjoyed the sailing days more... relaxing, swimming, hot tub, hitting up the bars, playing bingo and what not. They aren’t cheap, but if you price it out per day (without alcohol purchases), it’s comparable to most other vacations. I didn’t think my wife would want to go on another cruise after this experience, but she suggested it, so we will see.

With 2017 ready to pass into the annals of history and 2018 no longer the future, but now the present, let's take a trip on the WABAC Machine and remember what happened during my 2017...

JANUARY

January was apparently uneventful... except that the Clown was formally installed as POTUS. I apologize if you do like Trump. I don't and I'm also not a big fan...

@deadguitarist It was nice meeting you.  I don't remember if I commented before, but I never felt ignored or unwelcome...in fact, quite the opposite.  I'm glad you decided to stick around.  I've gotten a lot more serious about my photography (and have since also gotten a season pass to JT) and hope that there might be another meetup again this year. @nebula
deadguitarist:
@philly2hb, I enjoyed meeting you too, and our short conversations thoughout the day. I too have gotten more serious about my photography; and I’ve shot a lot more this year than last. I plan to get a NP annual pass this year, and also see if there is an annual pass for Nevada State Parks.

Well, Christmas has come and gone. For those of you who celebrate Christmas, was the Jolly Fat Man good to you this year? Comment below!

He was very good to me. Here's my haul...

- Two different studio light sets

- Backdrop Rigging

- Lowa Hiking Boots (in my opinion, the finest hiking boots around, but not cheap)

- iMac (replaces my aging, and slow,...

@ainoa, socks are always good. My favorite brand is Bombas. @lo_, that’s a nice list of gifts you received. Our holidays were quiet, but good. @gunflower, the Jolly Fat Man really came through for you. Though moving sucks, I hope you enjoy the new place once you get settled in.

No complaints from me about my haul!

There are so many Top 5 List threads in a variety of groups: Top 5 SGHs That Should Be Pink, Top 5 Favorite SGs, Top 5 Favorite SGHs; Top 5 SGs/SGHs You'd Like to Meet... and the list goes on.

I thought about starting a new thread in one of the Photographer's groups, but am not sure it would be appropriate, so I'll start it...

I think this would be a great topic for a photographer thread. The 5 that I haven’t worked with yet but would love to shoot one day are: @fresa @sundew @nebula @saga @paloma
deadguitarist:
@mdt, thanks for the endorsement. I will start a thread in one or more of the photographers groups later tonight (especially since @rambo, @missy, or someone else on the SG Staff liked this blog enough to put it on the front page... thanks!) Nice list too.
