This fucking city. How many people from the Mayor's office do the Feds have to indict before we take out the Mayor?!!??

And no, I guess I don't mean have the corrupt POS assassinated.

The worst part for me, Chicago natives just shrug it off. Well, I'm sick of Nazi-like parking regulations just so some well-connected dickhead can have a Mercedes! ARRR!!!

However, in better news, Chicago is North America's Most Dog Friendly City!

Fuck off, Toronto.

I love knowing cops around the city. In my experience, as long as you're not the one they're looking for, they have no interest in bullshitting you. It was always nice to know the Lakeview cops and see them as fallable, kind, protective human beings. I know it's not universal - far from it, but I'm glad for the experience I've had.

I remember a year or so ago, there were a couple of murders in Boystown, and being affiliated with a business in the neighborhood, they never jerked us around. They definitely knew enough to see that if some seedy stuff was afoot in the neighborhood, the folks at the tattoo shop may have gotten wind of it.

Long preface. I'm clearly not into the whole brevity thing. Sorry 'bout that.

I'm sure Ron's cop buddy has heard just about everything there is to hear about the Daley investigation, and what he said doesn't surprise me in the least. I don't think the current crop of politicians are, generally, clever or skilled enough to hide an electronic trail from the feds. They just can't have it in 'em. Harold Washington was a great Mayor, and I'd be glad to see the city I love back in the hands of someone who can prioritize the city before their family's legacy.

Wishful thinking, eh? One politician leaves, another takes their place. Still, I can't totally give up hope. My gut tells me that, unless he's assasinated first (distince possibility) that Barak Obama has a fighting chance at being our first President of color. More wishful thinking? Maybe.
