So, I made it back from Austin alive. It was probably the best week of my life. I wasn't in my office for 12 hours a day, the weather was PERFECT, there were free booze everywhere and I saw a ton of great bands.

Highlights include:
Deer Tick
AA Bondy
Lucero
The Weakerthans
Billy Bragg
The Gaslight Anthem
American Princes
Heavenly States
and besides Deer...

SXSW update:

So, I have a lot of solid plans at this point and still think that I will have a lot of drinking time despite meetings and such I have to do for work. If anyone else is headed down, make recommendations whether it's parties, bands, etc.

Sort of eclectic but I'm looking forward to AA Bondy, Akron/Family, Asobi Seksu, The Blow, Brothers &...

OK, so here goes...

I''m excited because I know this chica who's moving to NH (from the midwest) this weekend that I totally dig. Although she'll still probably be 90 minutes away, it's manageable. Maybe?

Other than life. nothing interesting. I think we are opting of of Saturday's party in favor of throwing our roommate a sweet-ass 30th b-day party in early February.

Oh, and...

So, I guess I feel like I should update my blog. Why? I'm not sure, but regardless, here goes...

http://www.bostonherald.com/business/general/view.bg?articleid=1049110 was the beginning of a long night of drinking last night. It's sort of weird how little I cared about meeting the mayor last night. Maybe after the 2 hours of open bar that preceeded the visit I was more interested in hitting on girls....

I've worked a multitude of 12 hour days in the past 3 weeks, which sucks. I've rationalized by telling myself that I'm trying to "get ahead" before the CMJ Music Conference next week when I go to NYC and will inevitably get REALLY behind. However, the reality is that I'm working so hard just to keep my head above water and that I'd be drowning...

So here's what's new with me in the past 2 months:

1) I moved. I know reside in Jamaica Plain, MA, which is technically still part of Boston. I guess as much as Allston ever was.

2) I got a raise at my job, which rocks. Also, after my review I'm optimistic about my future with my company, which I had not been for some...

I went to my first bachelor party this past weekend. I don't know if it's bachelor parties in general or because we were in Montreal but DAMN!!! I had the time of my life.

I've been doing a ton of traveling. I'm actually leaving in a hot second to go to Milwaukee for Summerfest (for work). It's sort of lame but I'll make the best...

I think I decided that my favorite song of all time is Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen. Some runner-ups are Ol' 55 by Tom Waits, a bunch of Beatles songs, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Tired of Being Alone by Al Green, In The City by the Jam, Lover, You SHould have Come Over by Jeff Buckley and and Long Tall Sally by Little Richard.

Thoughts?
