Hey everyone!

I'm going to try this blog homework for the first time :) Do regular members also take part in this? I'll give it a blast anyway. I don't think I'm active enough on here...or at least using the site to it's full potential!

Sooo...What would you wish for if a genie granted you 3 wishes?

1. I'd wish to be less anxious. By that I mean more mentally free from the imaginary situations that I've conjured up over the years. The feeling of being constantly watched and your every move judged...I know most of it is probably non-existant but the possibility is forever haunting...It makes social situations very awkward for me, I'm uneasy around new people, I've never been in a relationship or had the confidence to even ask someone out on a date because of this. It's tough!

2. I wish people didn't generalise. Ok, so generalising is the root of a lot of problems so I think this would kill a few proverbial birds with the one stone. Racism, discrimination, inequality, prejudice, stereotyping...all of these things are linked and I feel so strongly against them. People should not be judged & mindsets should not be formed on irrational opinions.

3. I wish organised religion didn't exist. I know a lot of people on here are religious but we're all entitled to our beliefs or ideas, right? I just feel strongly against established belief systems having such a control & influence in society. Belief systems that in most cases were created long before we had the technology to study and understand basic scientific prinicples, physics, biology, chemistry...astronomy! I was raised as a Catholic myself, religion is taught in schools in Ireland from a very young age, which I think is wrong. I'm not a fan of tradition...I think we should all form our own beliefs based on knowledge. But anyway, back to religious systems...I think in most cases they can be quite dangerous & corrupt. History has shown that religion plays a huge part in wars which is why I strongly believe that a country's gonverning system should be completely secular.

I really hope I don't offend anyone with this third point! Shoot me a PM or reply here if you have any thoughts :)
