it was a bitter-sweet christmas overall...
I did get to be with my family for Christmas for the first time in 2 years...
but there was that masacre in Honduras, which left me worried for my family...
and then this earthquake/tsunami... my family's friends in nepal were pretty much vacationing as a group in thailand... but apparently one of my sisters' friends' dad was swallowed up by the initial pull of the water... its been 3 days and no word of him wareabouts...
my sister still prays they find him and i hope they do as well...
it's pretty hard having lived the diplomatic life and realizing how small and interconnected the world is and how by living in all these different places, you get to know people, and when disaster happens, you're more than likely to know a few people who might be involved...
22,500 and counting...
fuck... what a shitty chistmas holiday...

I'm sorry to hear about all that tragedy! I didn't even know about it until I started reading people's journals today. I have no cable, nothing. Hopefully, everything will be okay in the end. I send you lots of love.
