I had a good interview today, and another one tomorrow. Had a good couple of days with my best friend earlier this week, and all is looking up right now. My old job might want me back soon, too. When it rains, it pours. However, it's pouring sunshine into my life, so... YAY!

So, the run with the NewBoy is over. I know it's right to walk away, but it still hurts.

I want to be encouraged by my job prospects, but things are a little sparse there, too.

Meh. I know I'm usually positive, but I just feel sad right now. frown

PS... Your car is HAWT!!! I've been in love with Z's since my dad took me for a joy ride at 140 mph through the streets of Indianapolis when I was 14 years old.

I really think men & women speak different languages. What do you do when someone tells you they're flying hundreds of miles to rekindle things with an ex, but later that night ask if you love them & confess their love for you? I drank a lot. I'd be open to other suggestions, though.

the_cowboy passed my resume on to his boss, and apparently I'm...

Yes, Kate Winslett is also aging beautifully as well! Loved her in Little Children (though she was supposed to look haggard and worn out in that film). And yeah men and women DO definitely speak separate languages... but that guy has the dialect of douchebaggery in him. It's not necessarily rare, but its easy to find guys that stray away from that hackney dialect! biggrin

That would be awesome. I definitely would like to try working in SF while visiting there. I've never been.

I would love to work with you some day. I'm going up there again in a few weeks.

Serious stuff under the spoiler.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

So, I went to my friend's funeral yestarday. Not surprisingly, there were hundreds of people there, and the cemetary hall was bursting, with people in the aisles, in the reception area, and spilling out the doors. It was so packed a girl fainted. I didn't like the prosletyzing in the sermon (nor did his parents), but...

D'oh! Guilty as charged of not reading the fine print.

Unfortunately, I'd have to see way too much of the I-5 to get up there for the opening, so I'll have to remain in Saint Didacus for at least the evening.

Hope to see you at a gathering when you make it down here, though!
bluevalentine:
thanks sweetie.

been far too long since we talked.

and much love on the passing of your friend

Thanks for your support, guys. I really appreciate it. I am feeling a little more stable, but still shocked and saddened by the loss of a friend.

On a lighter note, it looks like my company wants to hire me back for a different location. Who knows where the future may take me, but at least it won't be to the poorhouse yet! kiss
jasonzot:
Sorry about the loss. However, I think it's awesome that you're a sommelier. Are you going to go for master sommelier next?
jasonzot:
Thanks for the link. I forgot about the advanced part. It's been awhile since I looked into it. I might get into it in a few years after I burn out of my current career.

I was going to post about how optimistic I am for the new year, and how things are looking up in my life, but a close family friend passed away a couple hours ago, and I feel like I'm drowning. He was like a brother to me, and I just feel so overwhelmed. I don't know what to do for his family. I don't know...

I found out that my old restaurant (the one I left a year ago) is looking for a new manager. I emailed our operations manager, and he responded that he has an opportunity in San Diego. blackeyed Bit of a commute for me, but I called back expressing interest just in case....

edit: Hey, I have a wedding dress! Who wants to marry me? tongue kiss

Hey! I know I'm going out tonight but I'm not sure where exactly. I would totally be down for a pre drunk-fuckwads drink. I don't have your number anymore (I too have a new phone). I'll message you mine. I'll be at work until probably 5 ish.
