Gooooood morning SG
WOW! I knew you guys were going to like Plum_ but this set totally blew my expectations as far as comments and loved it goes! she's a really cool girl and I'm glad I was able to shoot with her on this trip. So hopefully she'll go Pink with this set and that'll be just another thing I helped out with in the SG Portugal community.

the other set that came out over the weekend......
PORTUGAL HEAT. with the post processing I really tried to make the photos look like they were retro looking with a bit of sun fading, and also to give it that "my summer vacation" feel. I'm still unsure how well that translated over but I hope at least some people got that feel of it! Anyway shooting that set was a brand new experience for me, I can barely direct 1 girl let alone 7.5 of them. If anything this set at least summarizes MY summer vacation and well, as you can see... my trip was awesome. Be back someday
I haven't forgotten about the bay area beauties either so hope you checked out this set i shot with Luana Light in the Attic
and one with Buellher
Anyway i've been really working on changing the way I think about things. Usually i'm the "half empty glass" kind of guy. Lately i've beenreally wondering about "the law of attraction" There have been several important changes in my life within the last 2 years that when I think about all the random coincidences and events that led me to where I am today... there's just something odd and kismet-ish about them... case in point.
Before I was a staff photographer I wasn't even a member on this site. Several years ago when I was JUST getting into photography I got a bunch of random SG sets where I just picked a bunch at random and downloaded them. These were justs random sets I picked for whatever odd reason, to view. For some reason I randomly picked a good chunk of the Portuguese girls sets so yeah one of the first sets i saw and I STILL think is one of the best on site

now when being a complete noob, photography is hard. Here it is you have this tool in your hand that can capture anything that you put in front of it. It stops time, sends out information and communicates, and there's not a lot of things in the world quite like a camera. If pictures didn't exist there would be no record of anything except what would be written down in lettering. Needless to say the camera is a unique tool and i'm fairly certain that most people don't think about how enriching pictures make our lives. Anyway I digress. the fact is when you're starting out and you want to take portraits you're really limited. You have this drive and compassion to do so.... but how do you start?? So a lot of the times when you feel like shooting, this leads to
1) shooting pictures of your pets
2) shooting pictures of objects in your room
3) shooting pictures of things you see on your walks
4) shooting pictures of random places you drive to
5) shooting pictures of your food
while this is all fine and good for day to day photos for some people, it wasn't for me. These things didn't interest me to capture so i'd never return from one of these outings feeling completely and artistically fulfilled. So how did i get from this point, admiring a beautiful set with a beautiful girl who is in a foreign country that I never even considered visiting before???

Seems sorta kismet-ish right?
there might be something to this train of thought... regardless of whether it works or not at least if anything you'll have a more positive out look on life, and if it's a placebo effect, who cares... cuz it's working right? What are your guys thoughts on this??
anyway this was a lot longer than I intentionally started out of a blog to leave. But things to think about...

Congrats on Plum's set going up. I already knew it would. That girl is way to cute and way to hella cool style wise for SG to not pick her up. She is da bomb basically hahah. I hope to see the multi next!!!!
