When i was a kid i spent most of my time with my dad even after their separation i lived most my life with my dad and my sister most her time with my mom. My dad had many faults but what he did pass on to me is knowledge of all the different things he thought a man should know. i bring this up now to explain my view point on what happen yesterday. So about a month ago my little sister got married my step dad has a racial issue and my sister never really had a relationship with our real dad because of the fighting that sometimes go on between a divorced couple; so they asked me for permission to get married; that was awkward. Although my sister and i have had no real relationship til about 2 years ago I said what id assume any other brother would say and said u provide for her and u keep her happy and if u hurt her ill hunt u down (being 6'6 265 ibs makes that a very real threat). So far they seem happy. Now all this build up is for this little story. Yesterday while driving on a back road they blew a tire and were stuck on the side of the road. after searching in the truck for what they call forever they call me because they don't have a jack or a tire iron. As I'm on the phone i grab my tools and ask her husband to check to see if there is a lock nut on the car because if there is and he has no tools for his car ill be wasting an hour drive he replied no. So i arrive at the car ask if he needs help and he replies no i have done this many times so i leave my stuff and start to leave right as i get in the car to leave i realize he is putting the jack on his cars body and is about to crack it dropping the car on top of himself.so i push him out of the way and find the lift spot lift the car on the jack and start to loosen the nuts and it takes me a second to realize there is a lock nut. i yelled at him for talking like he knew what he was doing and wasting my time and told him to look in the car again. he then pulled out a jack a tire iron and the essential key to the lock nut. So other then the fact that he didn't know how to change his tire he didn't need me to drive the hour out there and deal with this stupidity; i almost wanted to hit him with the tire iron. So all this is said to say brothers and fathers need to come up with a test that suitors need to take before they marry someone in your family and girls although it isn't a bad thing to know, and its definitely a good idea to know what tools u have and need in your car, make sure your man at least has that little bit of knowledge so you don't get yourself stuck on the side of the road.

That sounds frustrating, also, shouldn't every one learn how to change their tire? Or at least what to look for??? I know my uncle plans on showing me. And why would he lie about it, It seems silly to lie about something so important..... lol

I feel it is essential for anyone driving to learn how to change a tire but i believe u should not have the right to consider yourself a man if you don't know at least that much about cars. Like what was said earlier he might of been trying to impress me but im not going to give you a cookie for knowing something you should know.
