Death is but a layer

So since January I've been trying to get into the doctors to figure our what is wrong with me but I find myself blocked at every turn by the great USA Healthcare system. At first I was told I registered for health care coverage too late and despite me telling those who tend the gates that I may have something seriously wrong with me there was apparently nothing they could do.

Then I got a call a few days ago from my primary hospital telling me that my insurance provider doesn't have their facility in their network. I tried calling my provider to maybe switch to a plan that will fit with my needs but I was informed that I can't switch and I'm stuck with them (and their insane premiums) until open registration. Now I have to go to a hospital 30 miles away that I have no history with despite the fact that there is a perfectly good facility no more than 2 mins away from my apt that already has my medical records and knows me pretty well due to my visits.

I can't imagine how anyone thought this whole medical system would be a good idea. Everyone I've talked to says all it's done is completely fuck up all of their previous routines.

Is the US government so ignorant that they have no idea of the personal struggles of the everyday working man or are we at a point where corruption is taking it's toll?

I hate to be one of those conspiracy theorists but I've thought long and hard (hehe) about why someone would pass such a bill that would affect so many and the only conclusions I can come to are ignorance or corruption. What it comes down to is which is easier to believe.
