Work this week sucked ass. One of my co-workers quit and gave me and the other guy in our
department four days to learn her job. I think we would have been ok with it if for not one thing;
She completely sucked at what she did! After the first day we realized she did everything wrong
and we spent quite a few hours cleaning up her messes.
When our supervisor saw how upset we were, she assumed it was cause of the difficulty of
the job. We were upset because we had to deal with phone messages left weeks ago that she
never returned. She preferred to answer phone calls when her messages were full.
We didn't tell our supervisor cause there was not point causing conflict with someone during their
last week. But we are planning to change the procedure in which this girl worked. We also know
she spent a great deal of time not working. If she covered the reception desk (my desk) while I
went to the restroom, I had to wait five minutes for her to get off MySpace, One Model Place, Yahoo
and what ever else she was doing before I can even sit in my own chair.
The thing I hate the most about working for companies is depending on others to do their job correctly.
And my co-worker who shared my pain this week loves to try to use his seniority to kick more work
on me. While I don't mind being busy (which I admit to not being lately) I don't like being taken advantage
of. And I can't bring anything up to our supervisor because it'll only build tension.
And, on top of all that, I haven't been able to sleep well. I think it might be because I'm starting to hate
my job. It pays well and not difficult, but the atmosphere is usually tense. Plus I'm away from home
for near 13 hours a day. I have no time or energy to do much of anything else.
So It appears I'm at a crossword, again. I think I know the direction to go, but those old fears and
worries wait there. Not to mention the stress of it all and the approaching winter season (S.A.D.)
I pick the wrong time to give up drinking for two months.
Thanks for hearing me vent. Here is your reward (or instant gratification if you didn't read the above)
