Glad to hear your bro is (by now) back home. Too many folks are coming back incomplete or not at all. It's so easy to get numb about the statistics and forget that these are people's brothers/sisters, fathers/mothers, sons/daughters. War takes such a personal toll that, unless you experience it personally, is so easy to overlook. You have good reason to be happy.
