This is driving me insane, I saw this as my friend's facebook status
"So cute! A girl from Chicago and a girl from California were seated side by side on an airplane. The Chicago girl, being friendly and all said, "So, where ya from?" The California girl said, "From a place where they know better than to use a preposition at the end of a sentence." The girl from Chicago, sat quietly for a few mom...ents and then replied: "So, where ya from, bitch?" Post this if you're a Chicago Girl!!"
Blah blah blah facebooky statusy.
But what I don't understand is, how is it incorrect to end the sentence in 'from'?
Thoughts? Opinions? Knowledge?
PS I'm thinking about changing my hair. Whether it be a new color, cut, whatever. I'm kind of trying to grow it out though. Any ideas?

The first rule for a writer is to apply purpose to his use of words. In applying this rule, I would have to assume that the one who put this joke together aimed at the fact that the Californian did miss the obvious in favor of the sophisticated. I doubt the relevant command of the language in the originator...
P.S.: You see that I used an irregular order of words for emphasize.
