I've seen several of these blog homeworks go up in the days around Valentine's, and while it's great and inspiring to see such wonderful stories happen to great people it can be a bit soul-crushing sometimes as a perpetual single. However, I saw @sarabi_'s pussy the other day and it inspired me.
This lovely fellow is my roommate and general partner in crime Nikolai (well his full title is Nikolai the Bastard Eunuch Cossack Prince of Doom, but it's Nikolai for short).
Some twelve years ago he was purchased-at rather considerable expense-from a breeder by some folks who weren't supposed to have pets at their place. I ended up with him for nothing but love!
He arrived on a night when we had a number of people in our apartment, along with the most potent mushrooms I've ever run across. At six weeks old he was a tiny, curious ball of fuzz, who quickly joined me as I lay on the couch enjoying the fractal pattern emerging from the interaction of our crappy popcorn ceiling and a purple glowstick. The connection was instantaneous.
He rode me shoulder around the house for the next few months (until his increasing size made that rather painful on my end) and he's been my best homie ever since!
