I Long

I long to be violent,
And quicken the pulse of time;
To see the world shimmer in my fist.

I long to have power,
And whip the world to do my bidding;
To shove adrenaline into times heart.

I long to enjoy passion,
And chase the suns rise around the world;
To be at times standstill forever.

I long with need of the concrete,
And a vision as tangible as stone;
To feel with my hands the soil and bone of my faith.

I long for the fruits of an artist,
And the power of the pen that he wields,
To know the wealth and happiness that a living legend revels in.

I long for a poem to that will swell emotion,
And weave a world of image;
To show without sight, and cast light into my shadows.

I long with a sense of urgency,
And a need to be heard;
To have the world watch as I stand on my soapbox.

I long to be longed for,
And wish to be wished upon;
To be needed as I need.
