Atlantis
Bittersweet drinks and a warm cigarette haze.
Cash thrown to the wind and the bartender mixes another.
Bottles pour and shake against ice;
Grape and liquors mix with a touch of sprite.
We toast, drink, and head to the floor.
Coconut scent for cool artificial fog surrounds us.
Like a large blanket on an oversized bed;
It hisses as it rolls off the stage.
Blue, green, and red hues dance over our faces.
As we move and sweat, heating the room.
The fog swirls, rises, falls, and twists;
Moving like our bodies.
A voice echoes over the crowd,
Drums and guitars join in.
We come closer when the sound mellows.
Her hands slid up my arms and mine go around her waist.
We close the distance between us and gyrate as we embrace.
