Awaken
They speak in hushed voices.
Passing between them gossip, alcohol, and weed.
Drunken and slurred she laughs and tips over;
She Saves the Jay and he grabs the drink.
Giggling when she had been bitching,
Singing when she had been feeling,
He left her and her life was over.
Now a new has comeand renewed her joy.
She rolls and claws her way standing,
Over him like she has her fear of a solitary existence,
Perhaps shes melodramatic, it had only been a day.
Her morning with one and another by evening.
But maybe shes got it.
Maybe her sorrow in the face of loneliness is justified.
In her shoes, would I be climbing up someones leg,
On my knees, praying for acceptance after defeat.
She inhales, and he takes it from her,
Stealing smoke but giving her something more.
Shes been revived and lies in his arms.
Snow White, post kiss.
