i think our living priorities are way different. u-city was probably a great recommendation, really close to sycamore hills.

i don't have any pets, and although i too like to be 'safe,' too often 'safe' neighborhoods choke me with their uptight whiteness and suvs. so i live in the city, and yeah my car got broken into, but it's funky, cretive, cheap as fuck, and full o freaks down here.

i would never live in that apartment complex thing you described. it's not my style. but i wish you the best, and when you DO move here, make sure you make it down to the city....
