A Word On Corruption

Right now my country has several scandals in the works, and I just have to say... "Why?"

Why is greed such a motivating factor? Personally, and I am no saint, I couldn't imagine betraying the people who put their faith in me to protect them.

Just looking around and seeing how much selfishness hurts people is unbelievable to me. Why would people go out of their way to hurt others? I think it has a lot to do with a belief that those with power are better people than us. Or, more precisely, an inward focus. Let me give an everyday example. I'll relate it to traffic. The guy who drives in the right lane and stops at a red light. If you were to consider other people you would move so that others who are turning could get past you and continue their day, but this thought doesn't enter most peoples minds. It is this inward focus that gets out of control and hurts people.

When you look at someone today on the street.. try to grasp the concept (and it's difficult to wrap your head around if you are doing the exercise correctly) that that person has an entire existence and you are not a part of it. That person is on their way to a job and they like three of their coworkers and don't like one of them. Maybe that person was hurt as a child. Look at their shoes... that person picked up and tried on 8 pairs of shoes before chosing that pair. They are thinking about bills... they have to make dinner tonight, and what will they make. All the little things you do.. they did too, and it is so mind boggling trying to comprehend their lives.

And once you have considered this properly, your eyes will perk open and you will know you have performed the experiment properly. At that moment... look at all the people you see... and you will feel quite humbled. All those people are the same... They all have worries, sadness, they want love.

Make sure your focus is outward into the world and not inward on the self. Love yourself... but love those around you as well....

In an unrelated story (kinda) Did anyone see Bush trying to score some Brownie points <Brownie IS doin a heck of a job wink >? He was on a satellite screen with some soldiers in Iraq. He told them that the USA supported them and they wouldnt be coming home until they had total victory <Or till the Oil wells run dry> Which Im sure is exactly what they wanted to hear... and exactly who they wanted to see... not loved ones.

Bush went on to say "Thank you for all your work. When you get back to the United States, if I'm hanging around, come by and say hello."

WTF!!! If I'm hanging around? Sure I put you in there to make all my rich friends richer... and if I'm hanging around... I'll buy you a cold one.. in exchange for watching your friends burned and beaten to death.

He talked about how the enemy they are fighting is the opposite of the US... because America believes in womens rights. Not for fair pay, choice of sexuality, choice of religion or the right to chose weather or not they want children... but you know... in a broader sense... heh heh heh.. broad... thats a joke kids... I keep pitchin' em you keep missin' em!!! Damn soldiers gots no sense of humour. I'll buy em a Brewski... if I'm hangin around.. that'll loosen em up.

Ok... I'll stop.

Be Well everyone...

It's hard to recall what games I used to like when I was younger and rented them all the time. I remember A Boy and His Blob... that was was good, although lots of people make fun of me for that... Beavis and Butthead, or most cartoon-related ones (like the Simpsons ones, or Bugs Bunny) are usually pretty good. I think those ones are more expensive though. I don't have Super Mario 2. And I'm told Super Dodgeball is good, although I've never played it. I could trade some games with you, but most of the ones I have are crappy... like The Little Mermaid.
