While driving today I came across something that every parent dreads. A child was being carried away on a stretcher with a white cloth covering their face. Apparently waiting at a stop sign takes too long so someone blew through it and took the life of a child. Does anyone else ever stop to think at why someone would think its not a big deal to run stop signs or practice street racing or reckless driving? In my eyes this person is no different than a drug dealer or a gangster that kills someone in a neighboring house during a drive by.
It was a fairly new Honda civic and probably a person in their late twenties and early thirties with a full time job and at least some education. Im sure they will get a slap on the wrist and a hundred dollar fine for running a stop sign. Yet a drug peddler can get 15 years and never actually take a life.

Yeah... don't be too suprised if I don't come home one day because I got run down. I like to step infront of cars going 25mpg in the 5mph school parking lot.

Just to clarify, that is my daughters school parking lot. I already know if I jump in front of college kids they will inadvertently run me down while applying make-up or talking on the cell phone.
