So, I came to the conclusion that I should be single for awhile, and lo and behold, one of the few regrets I have gets in touch with me. Been 14 years since I've seen her, and she still looks the same. No kids, never married, and she tells me she is having problems with a jealous boyfriend.
I like to think I did the right thing by not telling her to dump him or give her any advice at all, actually. I just said she can always talk to me if she needs to for an outside opinion. Her friends, apparently, aren't any help. Too close to the situation, as she put it.
I'm going to stick to my original plan of staying single and solo for another 6 months, but if something were to happen, I feel I might break under the pressure. She and I were really close long ago, but never actually did anything about it, and now that she got a hold of me on Facebook, it's like we never were apart. Still in perfect sync. Very strange. I fall out of sync with people I see all the time.
It reminds me of the movie "Music From Another Room". Theory was, love is like hearing your favorite song coming from another room and singing along, someone closes the door for a bit, then when it re-opens, you're still in perfect rhythm. Now, I'm not one to get all sentimental, but somethings just feel right.
Oh well, I guess only time will tell.
Ciao,
Shawn
Oh, and I got bored and made a panoramic picture of the view from my job. Enjoy. I know I do.
