Before I head off on my impulsive Colorado trip, I thought I’d share my favorite movie quote with you all.

The quote is from my favorite movie, Nymphomaniac, which has two volumes - this quote is from the first volume, which is also my favorite.

The narrator, and the subject of the film, is telling her sinful life story with a stranger who takes her in. This is a line that has stayed with me. Through all of the terrible, amazing, and sexual stories she tells, this offhand comment stuck to me.

I feel like she had a strange kind of longing for something more that I was able to relate to. It felt pure, and honest. It felt like she was realizing she was demanding something impossible, because she was already blessed with a unique and beautiful sunset.

For many reasons, this quote sits in my head every day. What’s a quote you can’t get off your mind?
