Christmas Eve has always been bittersweet. Seeing my kids happy and energetic and excited for the holidays, but it is also the anniversary of my paternal grandmother's death; it has been 15 years.
You would think over time it would heal, but it seems to pick at me every year...maybe it is the guilt of putting of visiting for a few weeks and then making for sure to make it down for christmas and it was too late.
