Today was Opening Night of the Roller Derby Season. I had a blast! These girls out here are awesome. Great atmosphere and great action.
I love how the girls all have very creative names. My favorite is "Bustin Beaver"(a play of Justin Bieber's name). She's the captain of the Psych Ward Sirens. They all skate their butt off and put on a great show. The camaraderie amongst the ladies is second to none. They are feisty and can get nasty inside the skating track. Once it is all over it's like they are all best friends. It would be nice if "us" guys would be more like that. But I guess that is wishful thinking. Too much testosterone involved.
Anyways, I truly hope all of you can experience Roller Derby at least once in your life. Too bad the matches are only once a month. I hope the sport keeps growing and it gets more exposure. Go online and look up Roller Derby if you guys are not familiar. If you have a Roller Derby league go out and support. Houston and Austin Texas do a great job with this sport. I can't wait to go back next month.
