Ok, maybe the third time is the charm. I think trying to upload a picture is giving me problems.
Been away quite a while now. After they did the major site overhaul I just could not get the hang of navigating around here. Instead of trying to get in step with the new order, I just kind of filtered off.
I have been mega busy lately. Been working lots of overtime. The reduction in force through attrition that has been going on at the post office is working great. We almost don't have enough people to go around now though.
I have been playing my cello quite a bit lately. All summer I had a lot of wedding gigs with my various trios and duos. With fall here, all the orchestras that I work with have started back up. I am up to three rehearsals a week. All of them with the youth orchestras in town. I have become a mentor/teacher which is funny because that is something that I really never thought of myself doing. The rehearsal that I am going to this afternoon is with the really young kids. For the first part of each semester, I work alone with all of the cello students helping them learn their parts before we get together as a full orchestra.
On the other end of the spectrum, I am taking a class with my mother on Thursday nights. We had our first class last week. It is a basket weaving class offered by our township parks and recreations department. I was at mom's house reading through the annual magazine they send out and said that it almost sounded like fun. Mom agreed and said she would take the class with me if I wanted to go. She has had some health issues lately and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend some quality time with her while I still have her around. I was going to post a picture of my basket in progress, but it seems to not want to attach. In case anybody really wants to see it, I managed to upload it to my photos. You can find it there.
Maybe I will be around more, maybe not. We shall see. Until then, I am glad to see that a few of my favorite people are still at least mildly active here. Hope to catch up with them at some point.
