So last night a little before seven o'clock I settled down in my recliner and was trying to figure out what programs recorded on my DVR I wanted to watch, when I heard a noise that sounded like an avalanche from upstairs. So I went upstairs to see what was what. I looked in the loft, nothing. Then I went into the master bedroom and heard what sounded like dripping water in the bathroom. So I flipped on the light and this is what I saw:

My shower door had spontaneously exploded!!!!

And the wierd thing was that the dripping water noise was actually the pieces of glass continuing to break into smaller and smaller bits. A quick google search later and I find out that I am not the first to have this happen to them. Some say it could be a manufacturing defect. Or maybe a long delayed reaction to being hit, but I don't recall hitting it recently. Or ever for that matter. And as for the continuing shattering, apparently that is what safety glass does. (it went on for a least a few hours, and was still doing it when I went to bed, but was done by 5AM when I woke up.) So now I have to clean up the mess and figure out how to replace the door. It looks like I may have to get a whole new unit. I was hoping to be able to just replace the one panel.

Anywho, it is good thing I have not gotten around to furnishing the master bedroom yet, so I don't use that bathroom that often, and therefore the cleanup can wait a few days until I have off of work.



In the meantime, there should only be a few more really nutso mailing days at the post office. Tomorrow (Saturday a week before Christmas) should be pretty damn busy. But after that, I will have time to finish decorating and wrapping and maybe even relax a bit before Christmas gets here.

Haha, yeah I have to be at work at 3 but until I leave I am watching ABC Family too!

That's so funny you mention that, because this was the first year I noticed that too!!! Robert Marley = Bob Marley. LOL biggrin
