I Saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D today. It started out kinda slow, but got better towards the end. Or maybe it just took me a while to get into it. Sometimes I think the movie theaters really need someone who knows what the hell they are doing to come in and adjust the sound levels. The center channel was up way to high and alot of the dialogue was distorting, making it difficult to understand what was going on at times. I don't think that helped my impression of the movie much. This is probably one of the reasons I do not go to movie theaters that often. I also think I need to rethink my choice of seating when I am going to 3D movies. At normal movies I usually like to sit pretty far back in the theater, but I think I found it distracting that there were areas in my field of vision that were dead flat spaces off to the sides. If I were sitting up closer and the screen had a better chance of filling my field of vision, it may have been a more immersive experience. I remember seeing a 3D IMAX movie in vegas and it was incredible. Then again maybe I should just try to get my ass down to Pittsburgh were they actually have an IMAX theater. Remind me to check to see if Alice is playing down there (I imagine it must be) and if I can make a showing sometime.
