I've been working on my epic poem again lately. Perhaps the events with Bush coming to town last week and the rest of the week's news has rekindled the fighting spirit in me, or perhaps I've just simply found my muse again. Who knows. All I know is that I've written nearly a page in the past few days which is really extraordinary for this type of thing.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about; I'm writting an epic poem(currently entitled "The Tree Splitter") in Anglo-Saxon alliterative verse which details the story of Sigismund; a Lumberjack in Wisconsin who is forced to battle a Wendigo which killed his father and slaughtered most of the lumberjacks in his camp.

I know that this sounds a hokey, but I assure you than it isn't. I"m actually playing it very strait and serious and have met with a great deal of success so far. I just wish that the story telling wasn't so slow going. I've already over 150 lines and haven't even go to introducing the hero yet! (his father Dietrich, doer of deeds of reknown, must have his tale told first!) smile
