Last night I had the pleasure of having a fellow teacher over at my house, trying to bum a few smokes off of me. He's a great guy, and a lot of fun to hang out with; something that I haven't had much of an oppertunity to do lately. Anyway, a few of the kids followed him up to my house, and I have to say that I'm glad they did. There is just something about children that always brings a smile to my face; the two of them kept telling us jokes, and then laughing more at those jokes than we were smile This one lass had the most beautiful, unrestrained laughter I think I've heard in a long time; it was music to the ears. No matter how much of the dumps your in, and I'm been buried pretty deeply at this point, I challange you to not have your spirits lifted by the sound of laughing kids.
I wanted to take this time and apologize to any readers of this journal recently and how negative I've been the last month. I usually pride myself on being an optimistic man who is continually looking on the bright side of things. The events of the past few weeks have made it a bit difficult for me, but such is human nature I suppose. I wouldn't want anyone here to think that I utterly loath my job or where I am living currently; although not Wisconsin (but then, what is, really? Save Wisconsin itself. And even Wisconsin is continually being compared to the Wisconsin of my dreams), it is generally filled with good, hard working people who I have grown to respect over the past year and a half. There are, of course, others; but you find that anywhere(except "Dream Wisconsin" of course which rivals Lake Woebegone in virtue)
Anyway, I need to get going; tis election night and I've got to watch the counters. Politics, one of my greatest passions next to Mythology, becones and I've never been able to tell it no!

Hey, no worries. You can't be happy all the time, you know? And anyone who expects you to is unrealistic.
