I was going to update my blog last night, but wasn't feeling to good. Having looked back over so many of my last entries, I'm ashamed to see that I've been coming off as a bit of a whiny ass (although I'll exclude the ones about being nearly killed by a drunken student; even I'm not hard enough on myself to take fault this those!)....

We just met, but it doesn't mean that I can't say that I'm glad you had a nice trip.

And btw, it's okay to be whiny sometimes-- isn't that why we have blogs, so we can whine? wink

Well, another day and another sleepless night. Apparently last night was the only good night of sleep I'm being allowed this week; I came home after a long day and went to bed around 9 and crashed until 7 this morning. It was utterly divine. Tonight, on the other hand, despite being tired to the point that my legs are cramping up, there is no...

wow, it sounds like you were writing about me!!!....I am EXACTLY the same, I can sleep for hours, its just the getting to sleep thats the problem, i lay down, the mind clicks on, and purely random thoughts go by, everything and anything!!...just like you!...i have been using over the counter sleep stuff a bit, some nights it works, other nights it doesnt, i have been trying to relax when i go to bed, but it can be tough....when i get some extra money i am going to buy a cd alarm clock and get some of those nature sounds cd's and see if that helps at all........here's to sleep!!!

Its 1:36 according to the clock on my computer; I need to be up in roughly 5 and a half hours in order to get ready for school, and I don't think that I'm going to be fairing that well. I only got 5 hours of sleep last night as well, and today was a complete disaster. Insomnia once in a while is to be...

I tried to sleep last night but got a phone call at 1am from a friend who had to testify against her mother in court. So at least your lack of sleep wasn't for too bad a reason. But I know how much it sucks. Hey, at least you get to look at hot naked girls on here when you can't sleep. Hope things get better for ya. kiss

as much as you want to wail on these kids, remember too- alaska is #1 for alcoholism, and if these children are that bad, there have been problems at home for a long time. don't blame the kids. maybe sit them down and ask them what you can do to understand them better. call a meeting with the parents, with the principal. remind these children that even threatening harm is called intimidating a witness, and is a class B felony, punishable by 5 years in a federal prison.

and understand that they simply do not have the understanding of a loving and supportive family like you've had.

these children are quite likely fetal alcohol syndrome. and that is a heady issue, and causes so much horrid damage to the frontal lobes of the brain. which is our center for impulse control, consequence, and reward system.

reach out. do not push away. you may learn something in the process.

*written at about 1:15 in the morning*

I just had the worst nightmare, and am now a bit shaken and can't seem to get back to sleep. I thought that writing about it might help me calm down. Even so, I think that I might be puting a light on in my bedroom all night, just to be on the safe side.

I dreamt that...

I didn't go to Pick Quicks, but I did go to the Roost. It was fun! I loved Maynooth.

My new project is about grieving and gender construction in late medieval England.

You know the worst thing in the world sometimes, is one of those days when you wake up in a great mood, fully rested for the first time in a week, and then the world conspires to piss you off at every turn! Today was one of those days. I was tired last night and collapsed into bed a bit after 11:30 and slept the...

I have never actually been in the snow, you should put up some pics, so we can see. I know how you feel about getting spiritual and introspective, I have been slowly travelling down that path myself...not religios, but spiritual..it's very calming. kiss

maybe ask to sit in a few circles with the tribes up there. it's very powerful hearing the stories of the native americans. and their view of life and spirit is amazing.

I have been having the incredibly odd urge to cry lately. I suppose if I was terribly unhappy, or has just recieved some sad news, I could understand it, but none of this is the case. Although teaching has been dragging me down, I would not consider myself to especially melloncholly, and in fact I've been enjoying having the house to myself and finally having...

I think its wonderful that you are not afraid to express your emotions! Unfortunately in our society, men are trained not to cry, and that makes it worse. There is nothing wrong with crying at all, if you feel the urge for any reason, go with it, truxt me, you will fell better than holding it in. I am an extremely emotional person and I cry a lot, and I dont care who see's me, I just let it out...if feels good, and its healthy...So stop bieng so hard on yourself! kiss

I love having my own place again! Its hard to believe that its been two years or more since I truly lived by myself, and only then for a couple of months. I helped move my roomate out yesterday and then busied myself rearranging the house to suite me; I even went on to the internet and ordered several posters and wall hangings to help...

i read this yesterday and didn't even notice your mention of wierd al.

i'm a HUGE weird al fan.

coping is such a learned behavior, and if you learn it growing up(i certainly didn't), you have to learn it very quickly when you're in the real world.

I see to be updating my journal a lot more these days; it seems to have taken the place of my old fashioned paper one which I stopped keeping last year. I figure that I'll go back to it eventually; but for the time being, this is it and its not entirely a bad substitute. After all, I never had anyone commenting on my old...

Well, I went to my first funeral today. One of the elders in our village died last Thursday and the funeral was today; following the traditional three day viewing of the body at the deceased house. Last year there were several deaths in the village, but I never went to any of the services; I wasn't sure how it would look, being new to the...
