So Two Guys, a Couch, and the Fate of the World opens in a few hours. Watch it! Watchitwatchitwatchit! Danny G commands!

Anyhoo, let's see if I can recall where I was.

Danny G's Tales of Adventure Part 3: Fringe Wrap Up
We're well past caring about the minutia of the shows I saw, so here's the interesting part of my last day in Edmonton, the day the sun hid and the grey, bleak, cold rain of November made it's appearance, which is always confusing in August. Anyway. Flip back two entries if you need a refresher on my encounter with Thesis B at the Calgary ACTS expo/afterparty. That's okay, I can wait. We good? Okay. So, I'd spent two days scanning bars, beer tents and coffee houses hoping to run into her, to no avail. I had given up on this, and had returned to my hotel in order to reclaim my car from the secure valet lot, when she walked right into the lobby. I caught up, we chatted... we were both heading for the grounds, but she had to make a stop first, so we went seperately... I hoped to find her again later, when what I should have done, as I realised mere hours, if not minutes later, is said "I've been hoping to find you all weeked, and now here you are. It's providence. Let's get a drink later." Or even the last part would have sufficed. But no. I just hoped for the best instead of making a plan, and as such I didn't see her again.

I did run into misguided and Calixte, though, and that ain't nothin'. Masquerade and her boy showed up as well, as it seemed everyone I knew (save Thesis B) was converging on the scheduled Apocalypse Kow concert. Sadly, with the rain and all, all outdoor shows were cancelled. I had a 7:30 show it see, so off I went. I would be in Edmonton 6 more hours, but that was the last human contact I would know. After that it was just wandering the cold, cold night waiting to be let into my last 2 shows.

The very last thing I saw, the show I was staying in Edmonton until 1:30 to see, was Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie: Washed Up. It may be possible to find this show on their website, as the show was really just a live taping of a web-show that they held some slim hope of getting on TV. All in all, I'm not certain it was worth driving home at 1:30 AM for, but I made it back intact. Although I did wonder, as I often do, how I could drive 270 km and never escape the rain.

Best get meself ready... I've typed this twice now (don't ask) and call's in an hour and I'm still in my robe. Tell you what, I just sneak the show details in under the mystery quote, 'kay?

"Two Guys, a Couch, and the Fate of the World"

When: Sept. 14 2 pm, Sept. 14-17 8 pm, Sept. 21-24 8 pm
Where: The Easterbrook Theatre, Building A3, 2633 Hochwald Ave. SW, Calgary, Alberta

Synopsis: Top Secret Agent Dirk Rhombus is out to save the world from a deadly weather satelliteor, rather, top Canadian agent Janet DuBois is out to save the world from a deadly virusor possibly some sort of combination. It all depends if playwrights Phil and Chris can stop bickering long enough to write the script. It's a spy comedy and a look at the writing process all in one, from non-bickering (sort of) playwrights Jason Garred and Dan Gibbins.

And for Cilantro and anyone else who needs them, directions to the theatre:
1) Take Crowchild southbound
2) Take the exit marked Flanders Avenue. This spits you out at a set of traffic lights.
3) Turn right at the lights. This takes you past a gate with a guy in a box. You don't have to say anything to the guy or pay or anything like that.
4) Turn right onto Quesnay Wood Drive. This is the second opportunity to turn right after the guy in the box.
5) a) Turn right on Dieppe Avenue. The parking lot is on the left hand side of the road a little ways down. Should you miss this,
b) Turn right on Hochwald Avenue. In this case the parking lot is on your right.

For the bus bound, if you bail off the 18 just after it leaves Crowchild in the Mount Royal area, you're basically at the "this spits you out at a set of traffic lights" part of the directions. The 13 offers more or less the same option, but you have bail off at Richardson Way -ish. I'm also told that the 40 stops right near the barracks, too.

Tickets are $10 for Students, $13 for adults, and half that on the Wednesday matinee.

Call (403)-999-2024 or e-mail scorpio.info@shaw.ca for more info and to book tickets.

So, who's the other one you're obsessed with? She kept her promise and didn't tell me who it was. The first one I know about - we've discussed it. But the second I'm unclear on. Cheerleader, maybe?
