I'm not saying 80's music is flawless, it has some things to answer for. I mean, if you ask me, I don't think you can be serious as cancer when you say rythm is a dancer.

Anyway. Item 54: I said I'd have a story from the weekend, so here goes.

Perhaps I should just stop trying to have fun on Fridays. There always seems to be a price the next day. My first really fun Kink night was followed right away by the... Episode... back in March. Had a great time at it in July, then a drama storm hit the following day, the effects of which continue to be a bring-down on my rehearsals...

This week, I hit Batt-man and the Boy Blunder at Jubilations Dinner Theatre with the Video Vulture and the Reverend. By this point I had a few friends or aquaintances in the cast, so it seemed about time. And it was fun. As per usual, the Tall Wanker singled us out to be dragged on stage, but all I had to do was dance with a Hot Ninja Girl, so it worked out okay. We had fun, the afterwards I went to see she-that-played Ms. Steele, and that's always nice, so all in all a decent night.

Next morning I head outside to go to work, and my car's been broken into.
No, you're right, you did read this before, as Masquerade's car was broken into the next day, but we're talking about me now.

So my window's been smashed, and a quick check reveals that my laptop's been stolen. And I have 30 whole minutes to deal with this before I have to be at work. Wonderful. I try the Canadian Tire by my work, but they sent me to King Autoglass, just on the other side of Sunridge Mall. I go there, getting an usher to follow me in his car, but no luck. They've moved. So it's b ack to the 'Dome, where I try to figure out a plan that doesn't leave my car sitting in the parking lot with no window for 12 hours. Every auto glass place I call, even the ones saying "24/7 Emergency Service," close at 1:00 on Saturdays. Given that I had to do work, it's 1:30 before I can even make the calls to learn this. I wonder, often and angrily, how you can have 24/7 service if you close at 1:00 on Saturday. In the end, my car is sequestered at my parents' place, out of sight and out of the rain, Masquerade drives me home, and today the window finally got replaced. So that's fixed, but I am left without my Lappy. Maybe a new one will find its way to me on my birthday next month, maybe not. Maybe I'll have to go back to writing plays with a pencil and a notebook and spend 2 months re-typing them when I'm done.

So maybe I should stop with the fun on Firdays. Or maybe if I drink heavily enough to get a decent hangover, that will satisfy the universe and it'll stop slapping me around during my 12 hour shift. Which, y'know, oughta be punishment enough, but I don't make that decision, now do I?

There was also a rehearsal, an excursion to Broken City, and a failed attempt at karaoke fun, but I've taken enough of your time. I've got pizza to eat and GTA: San Andreas to play. Laters.

"I used to think it was a terrible thing that life was so unfair. Then I thought, 'what if life were fair, and all of the terrible things that happen to us came because we really deserved them?' Now I take great comfort in the general unfairness and hostility of the universe."
