The long weekend in review.

FRIDAY: So very much socializing. Really, I'm surprised by the sheer volume. A trip to Varsity Pizza and Subs (delicious! Everyone in Calgary should go there all the time!) with A-Lo turned into a six person mini-hootenanny. Tasty pizza slices, friends I hadn't seen in some time, good chat, good times.
Second... Star Wars. I'm a guy born in the seventies. I cannot fight it, not when the worst already happened six years back. As for Ep. 3, I liked it. Best of the new trilogy, ya ask me, and the most painful dialogue was over fast. Okay, except for "Not if anything to say about it I have," but that's a whole other thing. G-Unit and her man were there, plus Nick the Usher and Mrs. the Usher. Got home at the exact same time as my friend and neighbour, the Video Vulture, which led to hanging out at Original Joe's with Gay Posse, my old roommates. (No, I'll have you know I was the only person in that house attracted to women. Well, the ex made some comments, but I'm the only one to act on it.) All that in one day? What could be next?

SATURDAY: 12 hours of work.

SUNDAY: The Great Group Hangout at Prince's Island followed by barbecue at my parent's place (they're in Spain, seemed a good idea). Came one person short of a Spy Who Left Me cast reunion (damn you Stern!). Frisbee, fun, and broiled not barbecued burgers. Fine, so the barbecue didn't work. How was I to know? Great amounts of partying with many, many fine people. Not enough with some, but some things can't be avoided. Everyone agrees we must do it again, but when? When I ask of you? Some people got burned, some people moved steadily east to stay in the shade as long as possible. Burger Inn patties remain delicious even when cooked by outsiders (although the G-Unit is not without skill). And finally...

MONDAY: 12 hours of work. Followed by 6.5 hours sleep and 8 more hours of work. And 12 more tomorrow. Wheee. Still, holiday Mondays are ridiculously slow and I get paid double time and a half, so worse things have happened.

So much stuff to organise, so little free time to squeeze it into... and as a final question, if something potentially good, possibly great happening to you means that first something bad has to happen to someone you care about... how do you feel about that? Not what do you do, it's not something you control... how do you feel? What sort of person is capable of getting excited about it? Ah well. We deal with what's in front of us.

Man, I love how everyone is griping about the dialogue. It seems so unanimous, and yet...none of the bigwigs caught it? Tsk.

I think it'd depend on how much I cared about the other person. Friend....meh, I'd feel a little bad, but I'd get over it. Good friend, I'd probably feel horrible, and it'd take longer to get over it.

I didn't get to work on the holiday mad . And I just quit one of my jobs, so it looks as though I'm going to have not-so-much money the next little while.
