So a lot of my journals lately have been depressed rants.
Pretty much done with that.
Not that I've had an epiphany or anything, but frankly, I think we've all had enough. So here's something else. This is how I'd like next season to go for Scorpio, my theatre group.
FIRST UP: Two Guys, a Couch, and the Fate of the World. Phil and Chris are trying to write a play about superspy Dirk Rhombus... if they can just agree on how. A hilarious look at the playwriting process and a spy parody all in one, that was a big hit for us at the '99 Edmonton fringe.
FOLLOWED BY: U-Boat of the Soul. Phil's back. It's years later, his life's falling apart, and if he doesn't come up with a new play by tomorrow his job as writer-in-residence is over. His one hope: a new Dirk Rhombus adventure. The problem: Dirk's fighting him on it. Creator meets creation as superspy antics meet existential musings. More adult than Two Guys... much more.
PLUS A COMBINATION OF: either my script, The Very Long Night of Tyler and Selena, George Walker's excellent dark comedy Criminal Genius, The Sinister Stroke of Fu Manchu, or Dance Into the Fire: the Duran Duran Rock Opera. One or two of them.
Wow... that should hold me for the time being... 'sup with you?
