See, here's the thing. I'd like to update more often, I would. But first I feel I need something interesting to say. And what is there? Typically I just work at the Moviedome, and while hanging around a haunted booth doing script revisions and the occasional bit of work I'm being paid for is fascinating to me, it may not be to you. So I fall back on what's bothering me today. Or this week, whatever. But here's the thing, if I may quote one of my scripts (and I can!):
"Nobody wants to believe that somebody could be having a worse time than they are. Im sure your problems are, for you, absolutely huge and devastating, but youve got a nice car, a nice suit, and it looks like you ate today, so Id say at least a billion people had a worse day than you." -Selena, The Very Long Night of Tyler and Selena
My point, and I do have one... my problems are boring. Given how many people I know with actual drama in their lives right now it just feels ridiculous to bitch. So instead, here's my morning at the gun shop.
We need guns for the play (the Spy Who Left Me, opening on March 9th. If any large type said to go see it, for god's sake do what it says). And cap guns won't do, especially cap guns that jam a lot. So we hit the gun shop in Inglewood. The guy who handles prop guns took us down to the basement, showed us the selection. I've never seen that many guns in one room. I bet whitewidow hasn't seen that many guns in one room, and she works on an army base. Of course, many of them don't work: they're prop guns. They make loud noises and, hopefully, don't kill anyone. Just what we need. So Tim's getting a Walther PPK, otherwise known as James Bond's gun, and couldn't be happier. And, through various machinations, got 4 guns (2 functional) and 50 rounds for under $70. Very cool. Plus we got to check out the machine guns.
Yeah, I know, boys and their toys... it was still fun.
Well, that should do it... perhaps on the weekend I'll have a review of The Life Aquatic. Or more plugs for The Spy Who Left Me, which you should all see.
