So I've got, like, six hours of TV to watch. And yet, instead of popping in a tape and catching up with Clark Kent, Sydney Bristow, the crash survivors, or (God help me) 3 straight hours of Jack Bauer, what did I do last night? Watch my Sports Night DVDs. I claimed to be too tired to get into my new stuff, but still watched 3 straight epsiodes of something else. Something I've seen all the way through twice. I mean, yes, it was a great show, but...

I think there's a metaphor here. Or possibly an allegory. I'd be sure which if the evil puppets from Angel had done their song explaining the difference. So much to do in the present, but I'm dwelling in the past... all topped off with an ironic little bow because it's all about what TV I was going to watch in place of anything productive (it was late and I was tired, so there). Throw in the fact that I dreamt of girls from high school and I think we've got a window looking into malaise going on here. Not as fun as a window looking into madness, but as the last sane man on the planet I can't help you there. Unless this counts.

Ah, well, so I hid in the past. What does the future offer that's so great? No, really, I'm asking. I'll take suggestions for the next... unit of time...
